Calgary Yacht Club offers CANSail certifications leading recreational, competitive and club race team sailing. Programs from 7 up to adults. Lessons are in Optis, Bytes and 420s. Glenmore Sailing Club

Our Learn to Sail programs are for kids (ages 5+) and adults, on both dinghies and keelboats (our boats or yours).

Our learn to sail programs will get you started and into the sailing community. Choose to get started or continue your education with CANSail (beginner learn to sail through advanced), Start Keelboat Sailing, Keelboat Spinnaker, Youth Race Team, Kids in Keelboats, and Personal Instruction (individual or small group).

Lessons are taught with the Optimist, Byte, Laser, 420, 29er, and SanJuan 21.

Get your Pleasure Craft Operators Card with us if you have an outboard motor on your sailboat.

The Club also provides several free programs so people can start or continue sailing. Warrior Sailing (free learn to sail program for active military and veterans), Free Racing School (learn everything that happens when racing sailboats) and our Free Pickup Crew List (come experience sailing on a racing sailboat).
