To Whom it may concern:

My name is Braden Gray; I am a student at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada and a member of the Alberta Sailing Community. I am conducting research for my Masters of Architecture degree, and I am looking to survey your club members, staff and participants with a variety of questions corresponding various social, environmental and natural elements that make a sailing program/club more or less attractive. If you would like your club to participate please include the following link in your next newsletter or all member address, and ask members to participate.

This study has been reviewed by and received ethics clearance through a University of Waterloo Research Ethics Committee. However, the final decision about participation is yours.

The survey is to help better inform architects and social scientists what makes community- sporting facilities have higher levels of participation and retention. My thesis specifically targets sailing programs in Alberta, so any data collected will be used to benefit the community. If there are any questions about the survey, or how the information will be used, please feel free to supply my emailaddress b2gray@uwaterloo.connect.ca to any participant or interested party.

Kind Regards,

Braden Gray
