Sailing Instructors Needed

 

MOBILE SAILING SCHOOL PROGRAM (MOSS)

The Alberta Sailing Association Mobile Sailing School is now accepting applications for sailing Instructors/Coaches.

The Mobile Sailing School consists of 8 Optimist sailboats and 4 kayaks and travels to a variety of locations in Alberta to offer a week long sailing program to introduce the sport of sailing to those who do not have access to Club programs.  The person interested in applying for these  positions should be well organized,  able to work independently and be flexible as circumstances warrant it.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

-Traveling through Alberta with the Mobile Sailing School Program (MOSS) as part of the Alberta Sailing Association’s outreach program to deliver sailing programs.

-Ensuring a safe and positive environment for all participants

-Careful use and maintenance of sailing equipment, vehicle and trailer

-Work with on-site volunteers

Skills and Attributes:

-Be able to work as part of a team

-Be well organized and have the ability to effectively manage time and priorities

-Be outgoing and positive

-Have excellent communication skills and keep accurate records

Qualifications:

-Current CANSail 1&2 Instructor or higher

-Current Emergency First Aid or higher

-Coach Boat Safety

Class 5 Drivers License with clean driving record

-Pleasure Craft Operator Card

-The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Criminal Background check

Time commitment would be from the middle of June to the end of August
